Charities & Voluntary Contributions
Sphere Risk Health & Safety Management Ltd demonstrates its commitment Corporate Social Responsibility and its support for charities and alike institutions as being major part of its company ethos.
Providing support, advice and services to specific causes allows Sphere to keep in touch with non business groups. This is essential to Sphere in putting forward its message on responsible risk taking and aligns Sphere with the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health whose own goals requires risk management to be rolled out and understood by the wider community.
Stephen Smith, the Managing Director of Sphere has been keen to support Safety Groups UK, taking the role of Vice Chairman and helping to organize many seminars on specific topics such as communication, culture change, face to face risk management etc. Safety Groups UK are a specific safety and health charity, allied to RoSPA, whose key function is to spread the awareness and understanding of health and safety to all sectors of society whether it be business, voluntary or the public.
Over many years Sphere has provided support for institutions such a s the Childrens Society, Peterborough Hospital Trust and other local charities.
At present Sphere is supporting the SMILE initiative at the Edith Cavell Hospital, The Childrens Society, Pro Help and Sue Rider care.
A major initiative was enacted in June of 2008 to become a member of the Princes Trust through the Pro Help Business in the Cmmunity scheme. The scheme has been developed to allow professionals to provide an agreed amount of time for specific causes. In the last 12 months the Peterborough Pro Help Group provided some £35,000 of professional support for charities, local groups and specific causes.
Sphere will continue to place its support for the community along with other top level business goals and provide support, advice and services as required.
